Thursday, October 29 at 7pm Eastern/4pm Pacific time via Zoom: Silenced No More: Advocating for Victims of Abuse in the Plain People (Amish and Mennonite) Communities

How does a girl raised to be seen and not heard, survive years of sexual abuse in a closed religious community, and escape to build a national movement of women who refuse to be silenced? Raised conservative Mennonite, Joanna was denied an education and forced to forgive her rapists. In 2019, she started Never Stand Alone, which advocates for victims of abuse in the Plain People (Amish & Mennonite) communities. Joanna and NSA Communications Director, Molly Maeve, will share how NSA has helped bring national attention to this unique population of survivors. Join us for the discussion on Zoom - you can register for that here - or catch it on Facebook Live in the SAAN FB group.
